Phillip Edgar ‘Ed’ Porter, 82, of Lake Lynn, Pa., passed away Monday, September 24, 2012, at his brother’s home in White House, Pa.

Born April 4, 1930 in Springhill Township, he was a son of the late Edna Porter Rubenstein.

He formerly worked at Houze Glass in Point Marion, and retired from the Albert Gallatin School District where he was a custodian at the Albert Gallatin South and Friendship Hill Elementary school buildings.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen and Mike Skocz of Watauga, Tennessee; two grandsons, Ryan and Justin; several great – grandchildren; his brother and sister-in-law, Mose and Sue Rubenstein of White House; two sisters, Josephine Fifik of Uniontown, and Anna Rafail and her husband Joe, of Pittsburgh and several nieces and nephews.

Also surviving are his step-children: Edward and Betty Colebank and Judy and Joseph Bogozi, all of Masontown, Pa., and David and Bonnie Colebank of Nilan, Pa. and their families; and his loving furry little companion, MiMi.

He was predeceased by his first wife, Pauline Hartman Porter; his second wife, Opal Colebank Porter, and by two brothers, Ronald and William Porter.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion Today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday until 11:00 a.m., the hour of service, with Rev. Kenny Rockwell officiating. Interment follows in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield.
