Lena B. Hersh
Lena B. Hersh, 89 of Georges Township, Pa. died unexpectedly on April 17, 2013. She was born April 15, 1924 at Elm Grove, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Jobie Sylvestor Wilson and Matilda Guth Wilson Bailey.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Daniel P. Hersh in 1963 and children: Robert R. Hersh, Raymond D. Hersh and Carol L. Humphreys.
Lena was a member of the Shoaf Free Methodist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years, served on the Decorating Committee and was also very active in community ladies clubs and Fairchance-Georges PTAs over the years.
Surviving are her children: Zelia “Sally” Coll and husband Joseph, Masontown, Pa., Diane Richards and husband Paul, Painsville, Ohio and Dennis W. Hersh and wife Joyce, Amend, Pa.; grandchildren: Richard Hersh, Mark Hersh, Marvin Hersh, Tonya Gazelle, Brian Coll, Gregory Coll, Ramie Heinbaugh, Ryan Hersh, Randy Hersh, Craig Humphreys, Lisa Humphreys, Carla Richards, Tracy DeJonge Jeffrey Gibson, April Riba and Ashley Chesslo; twenty-eight great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Sunday from 2 to 9 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, April 22, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the WHITE HOUSE FREE METHODIST CHURCH, Route 857, White House, Pa. with Rev. Ken Rockwell officiating.
Interment will follow in Walnut Hill Cemetery, Georges Township, Pa.
