June Louise (Fields) Uphold
June Louise (Fields) Uphold of Menallen Township in Fayette County and formerly of Fairchance, Pa., died peacefully at home on Friday, April 26, 2013.
She was born on June 4, 1920 in Fairchance, Pa., to the now late Commodore Fields and Winona Crawford Fields.
June was married to Elijah A. Uphold, who preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her son and daughter-in-law, Neil “Tony” and Barbara (Biskowski) Uphold; brother, Leroy Fields; sisters, Delberta Rode and Winona “Dolly” Hovanec; and very close brother-in-law, George Hovanec.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Darrell L. and Norma R. (Deal) Uphold; granddaughter, Bonnie L. Uphold, West Covina, California; and grandson, Alan N. Uphold of Los Angeles, California.
June was a retired employee of Sears in Uniontown, Pa.
In her earlier years, she spent much time as a volunteer at Uniontown Hospital and at other community organizations
She was a lifelong member of the Fairchance Free Methodist Church where she enjoyed teaching Sunday School, singing in the Ladies Trio and working with youth groups.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa.
There will be no public visitation.
Private interment will be in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, with Rev. James Jobes officiating.
A Public Memorial Service will be held at a later date and will be announced.
