Ronald L. Ditmore
Ronald L. Ditmore, age 76, of Hopwood, Pa., passed away Friday, April 26, 2013 in the Uniontown Hospital.
He was born Tuesday, September 15, 1936 in Uniontown, Pa., son of Samuel W. Ditmore and Mamie Guthrie Ditmore.
‘Ron’ was a member of the Hopwood United Methodist Church, Laurel Lodge No. 651 in Uniontown, Life Member of Shriners International, a member of the Hopwood Volunteer Fire Department since 1968, member of the Fayette County Firemen’s Association, and Chiefs and Assistant Chiefs Firemen’s Association.
‘Ron’ was co-founder of the B & D Sportsmen’s Club and an avid hunter and fisherman.
He was the owner of the Ditmore Construction Company.
He was predeceased by his parents; and by three sisters and two brothers, Freda Edenfield Yowler, Ethel Markovich, Samuel W. Ditmore Jr., Thomas Ditmore and Pauline Ditmore.
Surviving are his wife Jean (Cramer) Ditmore with whom he would have celebrated 56 years of marriage in October; children: Ricky Ditmore and his wife Andrea and Terri Shaffer and her husband Mike all of Hopwood; grandchildren: Ricky Ditmore Jr. and wife Tiffany, Heather Raffle and friend Dan Eicher all of Hopwood, Brian Shaffer of New York, Chelsey Ditmore and fiance Jeremy Fike of Hopwood; five great grandchildren: Dylan and Dakota Ditmore, Makiah, Tai and Tro Mickens all of Hopwood; two brothers and two sisters: Calvin Dittmore and wife Dorit of Roy, Utah, Thelma Freeman, Dover, New Hampshire, Beulah ‘Boots’ Kloza of Massachusetts, James Ditmore and Sally Hummiston of Markleysburg, Pa.; a special sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Jean and Dave Stefanini of Hopwood; and his dog, Tippy.
Friends will be received in DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, HOPWOOD, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Tuesday, April 30, 2013 until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. Diane Olson and Rev. Randy Costolo officiating.
Interment follows in Mountainview Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
