Fayette County employment stabilized in February and March, but the county’s unemployment rate remained the highest in the region.

The county bucked the regional and statewide trend of losses in the labor force, but the unemployment rate was 9 percent in March, according to a report the state Department of Labor and Industry released Tuesday.

Updated information and adjustments pushed the county’s unemployment rate in February from 8.9 percent to 9 percent.
