Thomas L. Frankhouser
Thomas L. Frankhouser, age 79, died Saturday, November 30, 2013 at Uniontown Hospital.
He was born on April 6, 1934 in Bruceton Mills, West Virginia the son of Guy and Frances (Pence) Frankhouser.
His wife, Roberta (Zaucha) Frankhouser in 2010; a grandson, Ty Alan Frankhouser; his parents; a sister, Gerri Chuck; a brother, Larry Frankhouser preceded him in death.
“Tom” has served as the South Union Township Supervisor for the past 38 years and prior to that had been employed with Eberly Natural Gas for 38 years.
He was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church where he served as an Usher.
He graduated from South Union High School, Class of 1952.
“Tom” was well known for his dedication to his community, and was involved in many service and booster projects. He was a Founding Member of HARC (Hopwood Area Recreation Council), and member of the Hopwood Village Project. He also coached the Uniontown Legion Baseball League.
He was a Lifetime member of Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club.
Above all else, his wife, kids, and grandkids, who affectionately knew him as “Pappy”, meant the world to him! He will be deeply missed by his loving family and many friends.
Surviving are his children: Lee Frankhouser and wife Christine, Jupiter Florida Gary Frankhouser and wife Nina, Uniontown, Pa Lisa Vanek and husband Bill of Dunbar, Pa., Tami Frankhouser and husband Don Amber of Peters Township, Pa., and Tom Frankhouser of Uniontown, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Taylor, Kendall and Sydney Frankhouser; Alex, Demi and Chase Frankhouser; Paige and Trey Vanek; and Travis Frankhouser; two brothers: Butch Frankhouser of Florida and Don Frankhouser of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; a sister-in-law, Dorothy Frankhouser, Uniontown, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received at STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown Pa., on Monday, December 2, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m. where Prayers of Transfer will be said on Tuesday morning for the immediate family.
Funeral Mass will be said Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at 10 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, 50 Jefferson Street, Uniontown, Pa., with Rev. Father James D. Tringhese as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow at Lafayette Memorial Park, Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, Brier Hill, Pa.
