Carmella Glagola
Carmella Glagola, age 87, of Chestnut Ridge, passed away Sunday, December 1, 2013, with her loving family by her side. She was born April 11, 1926, in Herbert, daughter of the late Angelo Scabis and Pauline Coppolino Scabis.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Glagola; and her brother, Joseph Scabis.
Carmella was a member of St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church in New Salem.
She was formerly employed at the Uniontown Hospital Gift Shop and a former volunteer for the Uniontown Hospital. Carmella’s favorite pastime was crocheting and she loved to play Bingo.
Carmella’s smiling face and cheerful personality will be sadly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her son, James Glagola and wife, Linda of Grindstone; her daughter Cheryl Golembiewski ad husband, Greg of Brownsville; her grandchildren: Ashley Glagola, Adrienne Golembiewski and Aaron Golembiewski; brother and sisters: Mary DeRose and husband, Pete of Herbert, Philip Scabis and wife, Lois of Allison II and Nina Panko and husband, Carl of Garfield Heights, Ohio; her sister-in-law, Helen Scabis of Lanham, Maryland; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem on Wednesday, December 4, 2013, from 2 to 9 p.m. and on Thursday, December 5, 2013, until 9:30 a.m. when a Panahida Service will be held in the funeral home.
A Divine Liturgy will follow at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary’s Byzantine Catholic Church, New Salem, with Rev. Fr. Jerome G. Botsko officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill.
Parastas will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday evening at 7:00 p.m.
