Applause — Kara Patricia Rohlf
The Education Council of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce honored Kara Patricia Rohlf of Brownsville as Student of the Month for October.
A junior at Brownsville Area High School, Rohlf is involved in school activities that include the musical, Art Club, The Future is Mine, LEO Club, Environmental Club, the Thespian Society and track team. She also is the captain of the girls cross country team.
She has received the Falcon of the Month award and local race awards for her age group. She also was chosen to participate in the summer honors program at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Outside of school, Rohlf is a member of Fayette Striders, Actors and Artists of Fayette County and is involved at the Geyer Performing Arts Center.
Additionally, she has worked as a lifeguard, hostess and banquet waitress at Uniontown Country Club.
Rohlf plans to study physical fitness/health or journalism, with the goal of becoming a health correspondent. She is a daughter of Michael Rohlf and Tricia Rohlf.
The chamber’s Student of the Month program selects students based on academic achievement, extracurricular activities, and citizenship.
