Wharton supervisors plan for bridge replacement
WHARTON TWP. — After completing work on Howard Road, township supervisors are turning their focus onto an upcoming bridge replacement project.
Supervisor Joe Henning said the Cole Road Bridge, which spans about 20 feet, is in need of a replacement. Vice Under the motion of Henning, seconded by Lewis, supervisors accepted a request from the state Department of Transportation to pay a design fee of $26,495 for the new bridge.
Additionally, supervisors wanted to clarify that the set real estate tax millage rate for the township is 0.347 mills. At this rate, a home valued at $100,000 would pay $34.70 annually.
The reorganization meeting will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 6, with the regular meeting to immediately follow.
