Albert D. ‘Don’ Lovis
Albert D. “Don” Lovis, age 70, Dawson, Pa., died early Monday morning, December 23, 2013 at Redstone Highlands, Greensburg, Pa., while being comforted by his loving family.
He was born February 11, 1943 in Lambert, Pa., son of the late Frank and Helen Bruzda Lovis.
Don was a member of Saint John the Baptist Roman Catholic Church, Perryopolis and attended Our Lady of Grace R.C. Church, Greensburg.
He graduated from Uniontown High School Class of 1962.
He was a Veteran of the United States Air Force and was honorably discharged as an Airman Third Class.
Don was employed by Super Valu, New Stanton as a fork lift operator with 38 years of service.
He was a lover all of animals, especially horses.
He also enjoyed dining out regularly with this family.
Don was a loving husband, father, wonderful grandfather to his thirteen adoring grand children and brother to his siblings.
Don’s devotion and love were unconditional and never ending for his family and friends.
Don is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Barbara A. (Dubovich) Lovis, whom he married June 7, 1969; his four devoted children Michele L. Matey and husband Gary of Greensburg, Pa.,
Denise R. Lovis and Jon Scott of Perryopolis, Pa.,
Donald E. Lovis and wife Kelly of North Carolina, Jim A. Lovis and wife Julie, Star Junction, Pa.; his thirteen loving grand children: Gabriella, Garret, Gavin and Gage Matey, Ryan Premus, Josh and Noah King, Caroline and Ethan Lovis Damon, Brandon, Alexis and Kylie; his twin sister, Alberta Jean McManus and husband Charles of Smock, Pa.; his brother, Carl Lovis and wife Virginia of Greensboro.
Don’s family will greet friends in FRANK KAPR FUNERAL HOME INC., 417 West Pittsburgh Street, Scottdale, Pa., Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
Parting Prayers will be held Saturday, December 28, at 9 a.m. in Funeral Home, followed by his Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Grace Roman Catholic Church, Greensburg, Pa., with Rev. Alan Polczynski, as Celebrant.
Committal Service and Entombment will follow in St. Clair Memorial Park, Hempfield Twp.
