Charles Michael Filoni
Charles Michael Filoni, 68, of California, Pa., died peacefully with his family by his side on
Friday, December 20, 2013.
He was born Thursday, September 27, 1945, in Charleroi, Pa., the son of the late Aldo Joseph and Virginia (Roberts) Filoni.
Charlie was a police officer in California Borough for more than 42 years. He also taught cadets at the police academy through IUP. One of his greatest passions was his love of a good book, reading his favorites many times over.
His parents preceded him in death.
Left to cherish his memory are his two children, Wendy Michelle Filoni of California, Pa., and Aldo Thomas Filoni and wife Heather of Kearneysville, W.Va.; sisters: Adrienne Cope of Aurora, Colo., Delora Miller and husband John of Aliquippa, Pa., and Virginia Sabol and husband Mike of Lititz, Pa. Also surviving are his longtime companion Brenda Lucas of West Newton, Pa.; numerous nieces and nephews; and his first wife and the mother of his children, Bonnie Filoni of California, Pa.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME, INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa., on Thursday, December 26, 2013 from 7 to 9 pm on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and until 11 a.m. on Saturday when Funeral Services will be held in the funeral home with Pastor Glen Richardson officiating.
Interment will follow in Highland Cemetery.
