A Philadelphia man who police allege shot and killed a Connellsville teenager in November will stand trial.

Hasani Melene Simpkins, 20, was charged before Magisterial District Judge Randy S. Abraham with criminal homicide in the shooting death of Darrell Ross Jr. in Uniontown.

Uniontown police Detective Donald M. Gmitter said Simpkins shot Ross, 17, in the head with a .22-caliber pistol in an upstairs bedroom of a home at 39 Murray Avenue.

After testimony from four Uniontown police officers and state police forensic investigator Trooper Charles Morrison, Magisterial District Judge Michael M. Metros held all charges against Simpkins for Fayette County Court.
