Margaret ‘Mary’ Tarzia
Margaret ‘ Mary ‘ Tarzia, 79, of Center Twp., a beloved wife, mother, and nonna, passed away on Monday, January 7, 2013 in Beaver, Pa. She was born on August 28, 1933 in the town of Marina Di Gioiosa Ionica, Reggio Calabria, Italy, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Marianna (Luca) Oppedisano.
She was a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church. Margaret enjoyed spending time with family, and her four grandchildren, and with friends at the YMCA in New Brighton where she took part in water therapy. She loved to cook. Margaret would never admit it, but we all knew, her lasagna was the best in the world!
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Elena and husband, Atilio Commisso and her sister Rose’s husband, Cossimo Coluccio.
She is survived by her husband, Vincent Tarzia; two sons, Joseph Tarzia, Center Township and Anthony T a r z i a, Hopewell Twp.; a daughter, Carmella Cavanagh and her husband, Sean, Uniontown; t h r e e granddaughters, Kylie Tarzia; Colleen and Elena Cavanagh and a grandson, Carmen Cavanagh; a sister, Rose Coluccio, of Hopewell Twp. and her children: daughters, MaryAnn and Theresa and her husband, Frank Bair, son, Vincent, and his wife Dana; her sister, Elena and her husband, Atilio’s children from Toronto, Canada, Mary Ann Commisso Tascione and her husband Lorenzo, sons, Remo Commisso and his wife, Grace, and Enzo Commisso and his wife, Anna, and their children, nieces, and nephews; also, Vincenzo and Josephine Iervasi and their four children, Mimmo, Anna, Pino and Sandra from Toronto, Canada and all her beloved relatives in Italy, Australia, Argentina, Canada and America.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in the DARROCH MEMORIAL CHAPEL, 2640 Mill Street, Aliquippa darrochfuneralhome.com where prayers will be offered on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church.
Interment will follow in Sylvania Hills Memorial Park.
A Christian Wake Service will be conducted on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
