John R. Mateosky, Jr.
John R. Mateosky, Jr., age 50 of Uniontown, Pa., died on Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Uniontown on October 5, 1962 to John R. Mateosky, Sr. of Uniontown and the late Eleanor (Hulway) Mateosky who preceded him in death on July 22, 1989.
He was a member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church.
John had a deep appreciation for the simple things in life, and enjoyed being outdoors working on the family farm, and caring for the land and animals. He respected and loved his family and many friends.
In addition to his father, he leaves behind the love of his life Michele (Baran) Mateosky, wife of 23 years and their daughter, Megan Mateosky; a sister, Jacquelyn M. Alger and husband Chris of Pittsburgh, Pa., and two nephews and a niece: Easton, Brouklin, and Beckam Alger; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Jane Baran of Uniontown; sisters – in -law Suzanne Baran of Uniontown, and Chris Gibbs and husband Jerry of North Carolina; and nieces, Lauren Aaron and husband John of Japan, and Ashley Gibbs of North Carolina
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, I N C., 603 N. Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, PA, on Friday, January 11 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m.; and on Saturday, January 12 until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 N. Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA, with Rev. Father Stephen R. Bugay as Celebrant.
Interment will follow at St. Mary (Nativity) Cemetery Uniontown, Pa.
The Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
