A Uniontown man is behind bars after police allege he raped a 12-year-old boy whom he was babysitting at a home in Uniontown in November.

Joseph Scott Drohn, 35, allegedly used the child’s video game system to buy pornographic movies while he babysat the boy, and sexually assaulted the child as he watched them.

Uniontown police Detective Donald M. Gmitter charged Drohn with felony counts of rape, rape by threat of force, rape of a child, statutory sexual assault, four counts of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, distributing obscene sexual materials and corruption of minors. Drohn also faces five misdemeanor counts of indecent assault.

The alleged victim reported the incident to his mother on Jan. 2 and she then contacted police, according to authorities.

During a forensic interview conducted with the child at UPMC-Mercy Hospital in Pittsburgh, the boy told investigators that Drohn threatened to hurt him if he told anyone about the abuse.

The Herald-Standard does not identify the victims of alleged sexual assault.

Police secured a warrant for Drohn’s arrest and found him at a home in the city on Friday morning.

During his arraignment, Drohn told Magisterial District Judge Michael Metros that he did not commit the charges filed against him.

Metros placed Drohn in Fayette County Prison on $100,000 straight cash bond following his arraignment.

He will face a preliminary hearing at a later date before Metros.
