Arona man charged in attempted theft

An Arona man is facing multiple charges after police allege he tried to pass a fraudulent prescription at a pharmacy in Uniontown on Saturday.

Uniontown police Lt. Thomas Kolencik said Michael Anthony Sanfratello Jr., 23, of 3441 W. Newton St. was charged with criminal attempt to possess a controlled substance, forgery and identity theft.

Kolencik said the charges were filed after police were called to the Walgreens pharmacy on West Main Street for a report of a man attempting to use a bogus prescription to obtain 180 oxycodone pills.
