Darrel Blaine ‘Joe’ Everly
Darrel Blaine ‘Joe’ Everly, age 82, of Gans, Pa., passed away Tuesday January 29, 2013 at the Golden Living Nursing Home in Waynesburg, Pa. He was born March 5, 1930 in White House, Pa., a son of the late Ray and Mary Darby Everly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Warren Dale and Melvin Dale Everly.
He was retired from PennDot and was a member of the Calvary Methodist Church, Cheat Lake, West Virginia and belonged to the VFW National Band for more than 50 years.
He is survived by his wife, Dolores Everly; two daughters, Sharon L. Hixenbaugh and husband, Tom, of California, Pa., Colleen S. Fitzpatrick and husband, Clark, of Uniontown, Pa.; three step-children, Cathy Smelko and husband, Ken, of Uniontown, Pa., Susan Coughanour Uniontown, Pa. and Daniel Porreca and wife, Lori, of Landisville, Pa.; seven grandchildren, nine step-grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and eleven step-great-grandchildren and a niece, Janice Everly, of Point Marion, Pa.
The family will receive friends in the JOHN F. BROWNFIELD FUNERAL HOME of Smithfield Pa. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday until 11 a.m., when services will be conducted with Reverend Micheal Rowe officiating. Interment will follow in Mt Moriah Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
The family wishes to thank the Golden Living Nursing Home and the Asera Hospice Care, both of Waynesburg, Pa., for their care given the past several months.
