State police are investigating after an unidentified man robbed the PNC Bank on Route 40 in Hopwood this afternoon.

Cpl. Charles Frey said the hold-up occurred at 3:45 p.m. when the suspect entered the bank and demanded money from a teller.

Frey said the man did not display a handgun, but told bank employees that he had a gun in his pocket.

Police described the suspect as a 5-foot 6-inch to 6-foot 8-inch tall white man, medium to heavy build, 50 to 60 years old, with grey hair, a grey mustache and goatee — the mustache was thicker than the goatee — and wearing wire-rimmed glasses, a zip-up black coat, black baseball cap with some type of red or purple writing or design on the front, blue jeans and brown hiking boots.
