Timothy M. ‘Spanky’ ‘Tim’ Garrity, age 57, Connellsville Township, Fayette County, Pa., passed away after an eight year battle with cancer Friday, May 31, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family
He was born April 19, 1956 in Mount Pleasant, Pa., the son of Geraldine (Dull) Garrity Stape of Mount Pleasant and the now late Joseph William Garrity.
‘Tim’ graduated from Connellsville High School, Class of 1975.
He was the owner and operator of Garrity Paint and Bodyworks.
He was an avid archery hunter and NASCAR fan.
He loved spending time in the woods; doing home improvements.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Peggy Garrity; two sons and one daughter: Timothy Joseph Garrity and wife Michelle of Puyallup, Washington, Lucas Francis Garrity and his fianceé Julie Jordan, and Ashley Dawn Garrity and her fiance Mike Hohol all of Connellsville, Pa.; a cousin whom he thought of as a daughter, Lisa Meyers Lavery and her husband John of Connellsville, Pa.; five grandchildren: Timmy, Cassidy, Avaya, Blake, and Nina; his beloved dog and buddy, Otis; sisters: Deborah Chaney and her husband Ed of Scottdale, Pa., Sandra Speelman and husband Dennis of Uniontown, Pa.; and two brothers: William Garrity and wife Mary and Shaun Garrity and wife Shelly both of Connellsville, Pa.
Family and Friends will be received in PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., Dennis N. Heath Jr., Supervisor, 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, Pa., on Thursday, June 6, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday, June 7, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m., the hour of his Funeral Service with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.
