Volunteer firefighters work to remove an injured student from a school bus following a crash in North Union Township on Tuesday. Two students were injured.

Two Laurel Highlands middle school students suffered injuries when a school bus carrying 16 students and a sport-utility vehicle collided in North Union Township around 3:30 p.m. today.

The crash occurred at the intersection of North Gallatin Avenue Extension and Bute Road.

Richard Barron, chief of school security for Laurel Highlands School District, confirmed that two students each suffered minor injuries as a result of the crash and were taken by ambulance to Uniontown Hospital.
