Police capture man wanted in aggravated assault

Police said they captured a Brownsville man wanted for allegedly assaulting a woman in Belle Vernon on May 8.

Magisterial District Judge Jesse Cramer issued a warrant for the arrest of Benjamin William Craig, 29, of 221 Bank St. on charges including aggravated assault, assault with a deadly weapon, theft, recklessly endangering another person, simple assault, unlawful use of a motor vehicle and harassment.

According to John D. Hartman, chief of Southwest Regional police, officers in Monessen took Craig into custody at 10 p.m. Wednesday.
