An Allison woman is facing charges after police allege she stole more than $2,000 from the St. Vincent DePaul store in Redstone Township.

Rebecca Anne Medlock, 50, of 414 East Ave. was charged with theft by unlawful taking or disposition, receiving stolen property and theft by failure to make required disposition of funds.

Trooper Joseph Timms said that he was contacted by Uniontown police after the St. Vincent DePaul store in Uniontown conducted a forensic audit and found $2,072 missing from the Republic store’s account.

After further investigation, police alleged that Medlock, who is the bookkeeper for both the Redstone and Uniontown stores, had stolen the money in four separate incidents between April and Nov. 2011.

Timms said that police also recovered letters that Medlock had written to her supervisor at the store that detailed her remorse and her intent to repay the stolen funds.

Timms noted that St. Vincent DePaul is seeking additional restitution from Medlock to cover the cost of the forensic audit.

A preliminary hearing will be held at a later date before Magisterial District Judge Mike Defino Jr.
