Barry L. Tressa
Barry L. Tressa, age 66, of Grindstone, Pa., passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2013 at the home of his daughter, Leni, with all of his family by his side.
He was born on August 30, 1946 in Brownsville, Pa., son of the late Andrew J. and Mildred A. Plaski Tressa Jr.
Barry was a veteran of the Vietnam War where he served with the United States Air Force.
He was a member of the Braznell American Legion Post 838.
He was a retired self-employed trucking owner-operator.
Barry was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Novella (Lou) A. Winemiller Tressa; two children, Barry Lenhart Tressa Jr. and Connie Tressa; stepson, Thomas Crosby; grandson, Andrew Mitchell Dean Tressa and sister, Marsha Jean Tressa.
Barry is survived by his children, Kathy Luna and husband, Randy, Jackie Anderson, Pete McArdle, Lisa Mitchell and husband, Robert, John Tressa and wife, Mary, Donald Tressa and wife, Loretta, Marsha Sweat and husband, Tracy, and Leni Lawver and husband, Lonnie; step-daughter, Elizabeth Coulter; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; siblings, Andrew J. Tressa, Connie Gallios and husband, Van, Jerry Tressa and wife, Nancy, and Linda LeClaire. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa. on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. and on Saturday until 9:30 a.m. where a prayer service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10:00 a.m. at The Historic Church of St. Peter in Brownsville, Pa. with the Rev. Fr. Joseph D. Armamento as Celebrant. Entombment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park where full military rites will be accorded by American Legion Posts 295, 838, and 940. skirpanfuneralhome. com
