The Mountain Weatherman: A Messy Morning
Yesterday was another dreary cold day as the snow and sleet held off until early this morning. The high yesterday was 34, the 24 low 25 and 7AM we were 27 degrees with light sleet mixed with snow. There was 1.7 inches of snow melted down that was .14 inches of liquid precipitation. There’s a warm front approaching the area and that should change the snow and sleet over to occasional freezing rain here in the mountains as we stay below freezing for a good part of the day. We should be above freezing later this afternoon with some rain showers lasting into tomorrow morning when that rain changes back to some snow showers for tomorrow. The rest of the week looks well below normal as winter wants to hang around until the end of the month.
