Burglary suspect caught hiding in closet by homeowners
A Uniontown teenager is facing burglary and related charges after police allege he was found hiding inside the closet of a home he was burglarizing in Uniontown on Tuesday.
Uniontown police Officer D. J. Dewitt said the incident occurred around 11:30 when Edward Baker of Uniontown and his wife returned to their home at 39 Murray Ave.
DeWitt said the couple immediately noticed a video game system and games in a bag on the kitchen table and said they recognized the system as the one their son uses in his room.
Baker then went to the child’s room and found that two flat screen televisions had been removed.
While in the bedroom, Baker told police that he found the teen hiding in the closet.
DeWitt said that Baker removed the teen from the closet and held him on the sofa until police arrived.
The teen will be charged in Fayette County Juvenile Court.
