Edward P. Brnich of Ellicott City, Maryland passed away suddenly on Wednesday, May 8, 2013.

He was born on Sunday October 29, 1933 in Brownfield,Pennsylvania the devoted son of Peter S. Brnich and Mary Ann (nee Bednar) Brnich.

Edward served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.

He retired after 41 years with Amoco Oil.

In his spare time, Edward enjoyed golfing, NASCAR races, and spending time with his family, co-workers, and many friends.

He served as a Board Member of the Ellicott City Fire Department and was a member and usher at Church of the Resurrection.

He was always eager to lend a helping hand for anyone in need.

Edward was the ever loving husband of Phyllis (nee Mayho) Brnich for 54 years; the beloved father of Edward Brnich, (Darlene) Carol Brnich-Peters (Roger Peters), Richard (Hilda) Brnich, David (Karen) Brnich; the loving brother of Theresa Jesko, Mary Wolf (Frank), George (Martha Jean) Brnich, Bertie Brnich and also the late Albert Brnich, Michael Brnich and Rose Brnich; and Grandfather of Sarah, Molly, Rebecca and Zachary. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

The family will receive friends at the HARRY H. WITZKE’S FAMILY FUNERAL HOME INC., 4112 Old Columbia Pike, Ellicott City, MD 21043 (410.465.2848) on Monday from 4 to 8 p.m.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. at the CHURCH OF THE RESURRECTION, 3155 Paulskirk Drive, Ellicott City, Maryland.

Interment will follow at Crest Lawn Memorial Gardens, Marriottville, Howard County.

Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.
