Albert S. Komacek Jr.
Albert S. Komacek Jr., age 80, LaBelle, Pa., died Friday, May 10, 2013. He was the Son of the late Helen and Albert S. Komacek Sr.
He graduated from Brownsville High School Class of 1950 and then California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelors Degree in 1958 followed by Masters Degree in 1962 from West Virginia University.
Albert was a member of The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville, Pa., and member of the former Saint James Roman Catholic Church, LaBelle
Albert was a Korean War Veteran serving in the United States Army until March of 1961.
He was a teacher for 37 years with Brownsville High School, retiring in 1993.
Albert was a member of Luzerne Township Volunteer Fire Company.
He was a Baseball Coach for Little League, Senior Little League, Pony League and Brownsville High School.
He was a Winemaker, Jelly Maker and famed for his sweet tooth.
He was predeceased by his Wife, whom he married on July 30, 1955, Leona Musisko Komacek; Sister, Patricia Kinnick; and Brother-in-Law, Stephen Staruch.
He is survived by his Children: Stanley Komacek and wife Michelle of Uniontown, Pa., Daniel Komacek and wife Natalie of Charleroi, Pa., Thaddeus Komacek of Narberth, Pa., Karen Bilconish of Perryopolis, Pa.; Grandchildren: Claire Komacek, Anne Komacek, Brandon Seehoffer, Tad Komacek, Christian Bilconish and Jessica Bilconish; Siblings: Richard Komacek and wife Nancy of LaBelle, Pa., Helen Staruch of Butler, Pa., Philip Komacek and wife Seraphine ‘Sally’ of Belle Vernon, Pa.; Brother-in-Law, John Musisko and wife Shirley; Sister-in-Law, Victoria Fritz; and 17 Nieces and Nephews.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. where a Prayer Service will be held Tuesday at 9:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in The Historic Church of Saint Peter in Brownsville Pa., with the Reverend Father Joseph Dadizon Armamento as celebrant.
Interment in Lafayette Memorial Park where Full Militry Rites will be accorded by American Legion Posts 295, 940 and 838.
Parish Wake Service will be held today at 6:30.
