Viola Tate McDonough
Viola Tate McDonough, age 85, of Collier went to be with her Lord on Monday, May 13, 2013 in Uniontown Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Viola was born on March 4, 1928 in Haydentown, Pa., a daughter of Emily Clark Tate Hollis and Charles Tate.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth McDonough; grandson, James ‘Jimmy’ Wooten; granddaughter, Karen McDonough; brothers, Gerald and Elmer Tate; sisters, Margaret Victor, Loretta DeLorenzo and Clara Hanzes; special nephew, William ‘Billy’ Brant and stepfather, John Hollis.
Viola is survived by six children: Robert McDonough and wife, Karen, Kenneth McDonough and wife, Betty Jo, Shelby Zentkovich and husband, John, Mary Jan Wooten and husband, James, Kathryn ‘Kathy’ Ryan, all of Collier, Pa. and Patrick McDonough and wife, Lori, of Uniontown, Pa.; nine grandchildren; eight great – grand-children and one great-great-grandchild; brother, Robert Hollis of Collier; sisters: Salina Brant and husband, William, of Collier, Juanita Bartock and husband, Frank of Strongsville, Ohio, Linda Makepeace and husband, Ed, of Perryopolis and Rose Barnhart of Collier.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the second floor staff at Cherry Tree Nursing Center, where Viola resided for the past two years, for their compassionate care.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICE, INC. 21 E. Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. 15436 (724-564-2010) John M. Fabry, Supervisor.
Additional visitation at the funeral home on Friday from 9 to 10 a.m., the hour of the funeral service with Rev. Ken Walls officiating.
Interment to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fairchance, Pa.
