Clarence I. Beall

Clarence I. Beall, 86, a life-long resident of Greene County, passed away Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in the Point Manor Personal Care Home. Born September 4, 1926 in Davistown, Pa., he was a son of the late Onnie and Gladys (Raber) Beall. 

A 1945 graduate of Point Marion High School, he was a member of the Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church in Dilliner. Clarence was also a member of the Point Marion Rotary Club, where he was named a Paul Harris Fellow and served as treasurer for over 20 years, and he was President of the Wolf’s Cemetery Association.

He had worked for the former West Point Marion Lumber Company, and also helped to organize and was manager of the East Dunkard Water Authority. Later, Clarence started his own construction company, building and remodeling homes throughout the area. A master carpenter, he was well known for his skill in fixing or repairing just about anything, and for his precise carpentry work.

He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Wilma (Hartley) Beall, to whom he was married September 25, 1948.

Also surviving are two sons and their wives, Dwight and Sheila Beall of Huntingdon, Pa. and R. Keith and Sharon Beall of Dilliner; four grandchildren: S c o t t, Patrick, Verda Riggle-man, and Jessica Zalar; five great-grandchildren; a brother, Eugene C. Beall of Phoenix, Arizona; and a sister, Glenda Eddy of Delmont, Pa.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, on Saturday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m., and Sunday from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Kathy Griffith officiating.

Interment follows in Wolf’s Cemetery, Dilliner
