Albert Gallatin challengers and incumbents advance after primary

Voters in the Albert Gallatin Area School District nominated incumbents and challengers for four four-year terms as school director according to unofficial election results in the Tuesday primary race with 95 percent of the precincts reporting.

Former director and challenger Michael Dunham of Smithfield had the lead early and received nomination from both parties with 1,104 Democrat votes and 280 Republican votes. Long time director Edward Andria of Smithfield also earned the nod from both parties in the district with 1,049 Democrat votes and 201 Republican nominations.  Challenger Doug Sholtis also earned nomination from Democrats and Republicans with 1,034 and 215 votes respectively.

Incumbent Kenneth Plisko of Hibbs, current board president, received Democratic nomination with 884 votes while Terry Ryan of Ada got the nod from Republicans with 207 votes.

Scott Goletz of Masontown failed to receive the nomination but earned 116 Republican and 592 Democratic bids.

All candidates were cross-filed for the seat.
