Mary J. Kemp
Mary J. Kemp, 76, of Indian Head, passed away Sunday, May 19, 2013 in Excela Health Westmoreland Hospital, Greensburg.
She was born October 6, 1936 in Champion, a daughter of the late Raymond and Lottie Cramer Johnson.
Mary was a graduate of Connellsville High School with the Class of 1954.
Prior to her retirement, she worked in the Linen Room at Seven Springs Resort for several years.
Mary was a very active member of the Davis-town United Methodist Church and was the leader of the Prayer Shawl Ministry at the church.
Mary will be sadly missed but fondly remembered by her loving son, Glen R. Kemp and wife, Jan, of Indian Head; her sister Dorothy Peck of Uniontown and her brother, Larry Johnson and wife, Joyce, of Indian Head.
In addition to her parents, Mary was predeceased by her husband, William H. ‘Dub’ Kemp, on February 3, 2000.
Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and until the hour of a funeral service Thursday at 11:00 a.m. in the CLYDE BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., at the corner of route 711 and 146 Municipal Building Rd., Melcroft (724-455-2310) with Rev. Paul C. Freidhof officiating. A committal service and interment will follow in the Mt. Nebo Cemetery, Saltlick Township.
The family suggests donations be made to the Davistown U.M. Church, Kitchen Fund in memory of Mary J. Kemp.
