Evelyn Janco
Evelyn Janco, age 85, of Chestnut Ridge (Royal), Pa., passed away Sunday, May 26, 2013 in Jefferson Regional Health Center, Pittsburgh, Pa.
She was born December 30, 1927 in Allison, Pa., a daughter of the late, Frank Durigon and Mary Hilk Durigon.
Evelyn was a member of St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church in Smock, the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, and along with her husband, John, she operated Janco’s Grocery Store in Royal.
Evelyn will always be remembered as someone who was always there to help those around her. Her greatest joy was being with her family, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by sisters, Frances Verbanic, Rosella Walls, Leoda Baker, Mary Ann Constable, Isabelle Durigon and Margaret Childs; brothers, Ernest Durigon, and Lawrence Durigon and her parents.
Surviving are her loving husband of 66 years, John Janco; children, David Frank Janco and wife, Margaret Ann, of Pittsburgh, Pa., Gregory Janco and wife, Cathy, of Belle Vernon, Pa. and Marian Leone and husband, Joe, of Belle Vernon, Pa.; grandchildren, Elizabeth Ann Janco, Gregory Jr., Tony, and David Janco, Dominic, Nario, and Geno Leone; great-grandchildren, Shana, Mathieu, Grace, and Isaac Janco; her special friend, Florence ‘Quity’ Johnson and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, Legion St., Republic, Pa., on Wednesday, from 2 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, until 9:30 a.m., when a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10:00 a.m. in Holy Rosary Church, Republic, Pa., with Rev. Fr. William McGuirk as Celebrant. Interment will be in Lafayette Memorial Park.
