PennDOT provides work schedule

Chris Sleighter, Fayette County maintenance manager with the state Department of Transportation, has announced the following tentative work plan for the week beginning Monday.

n Crack sealing is scheduled on state routes 711 and 381 in the Normalville and Mill Run areas.

n Bridge flushing is scheduled on various state roads in the Fairchance and Smithfield areas.

n Patching is scheduled on state Route 381 in Indian Head, state Route 1009 (Poplar Run Road) and state Route 1058 in the Seven Springs area.

n Surface treatment is scheduled on state Route 1009 (Poplar Run Road), state Route 1058 (County Line Road) and state Route 1054 in Indian Head.

n Shoulder cutting is scheduled on state Route 4022 (Narrows Road).

n Ditch cleaning is scheduled on state Route 166 (Grays Landing).

n Pipe flushing is scheduled on state Route 40 in the Summit Mountain area.

n Bridge replacement is scheduled on state Route 3015 (Wynn Road).

Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and work orders will be addressed on various state roads throughout the county.

All maintenance activities are conducted as the weather permits. PennDOT said motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights.

PennDOT has a 24-hour toll-free number for residents to call to report any road maintenance concern. The number also can be used to report locations of dead deer on state highways. The number is 1-800-FIX ROAD (1-800-349-7623).
