Howard L. ‘Red’ West
Howard L. ‘Red’ West, 84, of Belle Vernon, died in his home on Monday, September 30, 2013.
A son of the late Rev. Samuel E. and Alma G. Paulson West, he was born in East Liverpool, Ohio.
A life-long resident of Belle Vernon, he had attended the Char-Belle Free Methodist Church.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Susan A. West, who passed away on April 13, 2009; brothers, Paul, Oliver, Charlie and Bob West.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Arthur and his wife, Terry, of Palmetto, Fla. and Alan West and his wife, Monica, of Morriston, Fla.; a grandson, Arthur West, Jr. and his wife, Debbie, of Altoona; two great-grandchildren, Coulton and Savannah West; siblings, Sarah Wilbraham of McDonald, Rev. James Ray West and his wife, Betty, of Normalville, Rev. David L. West and his wife, Martha, of Marion, Mich. and Dorothy Williams of Star Junction and many nieces and nephews.
Howard retired from the railroad industry after 46 years of service.

Funeral services will be in the funeral home Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor Eugene H. Spear officiating and Jean Ferguson co-officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
