Teen injured in scooter accident
A Belle Vernon teenager suffered serious injuries when he crashed into a utility pole in Belle Vernon Tuesday evening.
Southwest Regional police Chief John D. Hartman said the crash occurred at the intersection of Main Street and Blind Lane at 7:11 p.m.
Hartman said the teen, whose identity has not been released, was found unconscious.
The boy was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC-Children’s Hospital in Pittsburgh, Hartman said.
He said that police are still trying to determine how the teen crashed.
