Phyliss B. (Lescar) Churilla
Phyliss B. (Lescar) Churilla, 76, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Sunday, October 13, 2013 at UPMC Montefiore Hospital, Pittsburgh.
She was born on September 3, 1937 in York Run, Pa., daughter of Michael E. and Mary (Hornsby) Lescar.
Her parents and an infant brother, Conrad, preceded her in death.
Phyliss was a member of St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church.
She was a ember and volunteer for the American Heart Association, member of the Uniontown Hospital Auxiliary and volunteer for the Uniontown Service League.
She loved to travel and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. Her fun-loving and spirited nature will always be remembered and deeply missed by her many friends and her family.
Left to cherish her memory are her beloved husband of 54 years, James E. Churilla, Sr; their children: son, James E. Churilla, Jr. and wife, Brenda, of Morgantown, W.Va. and daughter, Janelle Churilla-Saiz and husband, Steve, of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; grandchildren, Chelsea Churilla and Philip Churilla; a sister, Marlene Maraugha of Toledo, Ohio and a brother, Larry Lescar and wife, Paula, of Smith Mt. Lake, Va. and many nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind her ‘grand-puppies’, Emilio and Gia.
Friends will be received at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave, Ext., Uniontown, Pa. on Wednesday, October 16 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, October 17 until 9:15 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in St. Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church, 61 Mill St., Uniontown, Pa., with Msgr. Michael W. Matusak as Celebrant.
Entombment will be held at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
The Parish Wake Service will be held on Wednesday at 3 p.m.
