Harriet Jane Givens, age 72, of Brownsville, Pa., passed away on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at her home.

She was born on June 3, 1941 in Newell, Pa., daughter of the late Samuel W. and Betty Lee Thompson Means.

Harriet was preceded in death by her husband, William Givens; three sons, Glenn, Billy and Jimmy and brother, John C. Means.

She is survived by her two children, Allen Givens and Tracy Mattie; two sisters, Penny Christofel and Peggy Chaw; 11 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME, 135 Park Street, Brownsville, Pa. on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. when a funeral service will be held with Rev. Tim Rogers officiating.
