Daley, DeLuca backing Democrat McGinty for governor

2 min read

PHILADELPHIA — State Rep. Peter J. Daley, D-California, is putting his support behind the state former secretary of the state Department of Environmental Protection in her bid for governor.

Joining Daley in endorsing Democrat Katie McGinty is Rep. Tony DeLuca, D-Verona, according to the Katie McGinty for Governor committee.

“You can trust Katie McGinty when she says that she will create jobs while protecting the environment because that is exactly what she has done her entire career,” Daley said. “I am proud to endorse Katie because she has demonstrated that she will focus on creating jobs and rebuilding Pennsylvania’s middle class.”

DeLuca has represented the 32nd District located in the eastern suburbs of Allegheny County since 1983, and currently serves as Democratic Chairman of the Insurance Committee.

“I am proud to receive the endorsement of two distinguished Representatives like Tony DeLuca and Pete Daley,” McGinty said. “I look forward to working with Tony and Pete to reverse Gov. Tom Corbett’s reckless policies so that we can put Pennsylvanians back to work while restoring Corbett’s devastating education cuts.”

McGinty has been endorsed by Amalgamated Transit Union Local 85, numerous national environmental leaders, and Philadelphia Building and Construction Trades Council President Pat Gillespie.
