MaryAnn Lecea Cortes age 84, of Newboro, Pa., passed away on Saturday August 31, 2013 at her home with her loving family at her side.

Born November 25, 1928 in Edenborn, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Victor Lecea and Michalina ‘Lena’ Jasien Lecea.

MaryAnn, a German Township High School graduate class of 1946, was a former member of Our Lady of Czestochowa Church in Cardale, Pa., where she taught CCD classes for many years and where she also was a Charter Member of The Confraternity of Christian Mothers. She is now a member of Saint Francis of Assisi Parish, formerly Saint Thomas Parish, in Footedale, Pa.

MaryAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Cortes, whom she married in 1950; a granddaughter, Marita Kret; brother, Ramon Lecea; sister, Carmen Gera; in-laws, Fernando and Josephine Cortes.

Surviving are her daughters: Judy Richnavsky and husband Frank of Garrettsville, Ohio and Rosanne Kret and husband Jim of Masontown Pa.; grand children: Rebecca and Tayyab Diwan, Milford, Ohio, Stacia and Brian Wright of Milford, Ohio, Regina and Grant Watson of Morgantown, West Virginia, Matthew and Valissa Richnavsky of Chambersburg, Pa.; great grandchildren: Kira, Campbell, Tobias, Weston, Aden, Jack, Jacob, Gabriel, Rowan and Henry; sisters: Irene Swanson of Twinsburg, Ohio, Ramona and William Vignali of Youngstown, Ohio, Jacquelynn and Timothy Varner, Monroeville, Pa.; sisters-in-law: Adeline Kiec of Republic, Pa., and Dolores Pavlitsa of Uniontown, Pa.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., 20 North Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 until 9:30 a.m. when a Prayer Service will be held.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Francis of Assisi Church, Footedale, Pa., with the Rev. Father William G. Berkey as Celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Saint Thomas Cemetery, Footedale.
