Jack A. DeVan, 86, of Ashland, died Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at Good Shepherd Home in Ashland. Born September 27, 1926 in Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of Vernon and Henrietta (McClelland) Devan.

A veteran of the United States Army, serving in World War II, he retired from Furbay’s Electric. He was a member of the Ashland Elks Lodge and a former member of the Country Club of Ashland. Jack was very involved in little league with his kids and loved golf and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife, Carol (Phillips) DeVan; their children, William (Terry) DeVan of Perrysville, Mark (Rita) DeVan of Ashland and Karen (Chip) Salyer of Glenmont, Ohio; four grandchildren: Tracy (Larry) Booth, Jennifer (Gary) Baker, Sara Salyer and Melissa Cox; seven great grand-children: Cailynn, Dylan, Hannah, Garrett, Jesse, Luke and Nathan; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Kim and a brother, Curtis Devan.

A private family gathering will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Dale Roy School.
