Police probe death of Centerville woman
Police are investigating after a Centerville woman was found dead on the banks of the Monongahela River in Centerville on Wednesday evening.
Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco said Peggy Redmond, 59, of Vesta Seven Road was pronounced dead at 8:01 p.m. at Monongahela Valley Hospital in Carroll Township.
According to Warco, Redmond’s husband found Redmond face down in the water along the river bank after she failed to return home after taking a walk.
He said the cause and manner of death are pending an autopsy.
Centerville police said this morning that the incident remains under investigation.
