Thomas E. Martin
Thomas E. Martin, age 89, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away at home surrounded by his loving wife and family on Tuesday September 10, 2013. He was born November 13, 1923 in Footedale, Pa., son of the late George and Margaret (Workman) Martin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers George, John, Allen and Benjamin, and a sister Nettie Feddor. Thomas was the last surviving member of his immediate family.
Thomas proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a lifetime member of both the North Union V.F.W. Post 8543, and American Legion Post 51, and was also a member of AMVETS Post 103.
Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 67 years, Betty P. (Kifer) Martin, eleven children: Thomas Martin and wife Joann, Terry Martin and wife Linda, Richard Martin, Robert Martin and wife Verna, Yvonne Crayton and husband Earl, Joyce Fiesta and husband William, Larry Martin and wife Karen, Pamela Hudson and husband Richard, Kimberly Goodwin and husband William, John Martin and wife Rachelle, and Deidra Grimm and husband James, twenty-six grandchildren: Tommy, Gina, Christopher, Heather, Christina, Jennifer, Amy, Bobby, Reyna, George, Mercedes, Ricky, Tiffany, J.J., Colby, Jeremy, Larry, Tatum, Carrie, Richard, Matthew, Rachel, Renee, Cody, Cory, Chelsea, and their spouses; thirty-six great-grandchildren: and numerous nieces, nephews and sisters-in-law.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 North Gallatin Ave. Ext., Uniontown PA on Thursday, September 12 from 7 to 9 p.m.; Friday, September 13, from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m.; and Saturday, September 14, from 9 until 10 a.m., the Hour of Service, with Rev. Heather Simpson officiating.
Interment will follow at Sylvan Heights Cemetery where military honors will be accorded at graveside by George C. Marshall AMVETS Post No. 103.
