Evelyn S. Cave
Evelyn S. Cave, 95 of Uniontown, Pa. passed away Thursday September 12, 2013 in LaFayette Manor.
She was born March 7, 1918 in Uniontown.
Preceding her in death were her parents James Savage and Rose Cupp Savage and her husband Joseph Sterner Cave.
Evelyn was a former educator having taught in the Laurel Highlands School District for over 25 years and was a member of the Uniontown Central Christian Church where she had been a dedicated Sunday School Teacher. She was a woman who loved life and was extremely proud of her great-grandchildren. Evelyn loved her pets and all animals, was an avid reader who read a book a day and treasured her trips to the casinos where she played the penny machines.
Surviving are two daughters, Cheryl Burks and husband Lawrence and Karen Cave, all of Uniontown, three grand-daughters: Cherie Burks Fluharty and husband Ty, Heather Busby and husband Jarrod and Chandra Cave and four great-grandchildren: Sydney, Alec, Kate and Grace.
Friends will be received in the SHELL FUNERAL HOME, INC. 164 S. Mt. Vernon Ave. Uniontown, PA today from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Saturday until 11 a.m., the hour of service.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery.
