Edward E. Johnson, ‘E.J.’, 76, Uniontown, Pa. died suddenly Thursday, September 12, 2013 at Uniontown Hospital.

He was born on September 13, 1936 in Connellsville, Pa., son of Paul Henry Johnson Sr. and Dorothy (Konieczny) Johnson.

Ed was lovingly known as ‘E.J.’ by his family and friends. He had been employed with Cavert Wire Company for over 40 years.

He was a member of Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church and Lemont Sportsmen’s Club. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dorothy Lee Johnson; and brothers, Paul H. Johnson Jr., Patrick Johnson, Myron Johnson.

Left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife of 47 years, Mary Evelyn Estocak Johnson; loving daughter Christine Johnson at home; brothers: Thomas Johnson and wife Judy of Little Brownfield, Pa., and Regis Johnson and wife JoAnn, Macedonia, Ohio; his sister, Joyce Estocak and husband John of Uniontown, Pa.; many nieces and nephews and their families. He will also be deeply missed by ‘Buddy’, his beagle, and ‘Franklin’, his cat.

Friends will be received at STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown Pa., today, September 15, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 and Monday, September 16, until 9:30 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.

The Funeral Mass will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 North Mount Vernon Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., with Rev. Father Peter L. Peretti as Celebrant.

Interment will be at Sylvan Heights Cemetery Uniontown, Pa.

Parish Wake Service will be held today at 6:30.
