Carrie Etta Wright Braxton Turner

Carrie Etta Wright Braxton, a lifelong resident of Vanderbilt, Pa., was born October 15, 1931. She went home to be with the Lord on September 13, 2013.

Carrie was a member of World Christian Outreach Ministry of Connellsville, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands, James R. Braxton, Sr. and Elmer Turner; four brothers, Theodore, Charles, Benford, and William Wright and son, James ‘Bubby’ Braxton.

She is survived by two sisters, Ida Connors and Sheila Tracy; eight children, Minister Katherine and husband, Norman Farrish, Rev. Mary Ann Strader, Aleta and husband, Lawrence Akrie, William Stanley and wife, Linda Braxton, Rev. Virginia and husband, Theodore, Martin, Rev. Nathaniel and wife Tyrerei, Turner, West and wife, Shanda, Turner, and Colivia and husband, Frank, Jones and daughter-in-law, Pamela (James) Braxton; 33 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. She will be sadly missed by all.

Friends will be received at the LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 E. main St. Uniontown, Pa. on Thursday, September 19 from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Friday, September 20 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow immediately in the Green Ridge Memorial Park in Connellsville, Pa.
