Glenn E. Swaney
Glenn E. Swaney, 84, of Smithfield, Pa., died at home with his loving family by his side on September 17, 2013.
He was born June 16, 1929 at Cokeburg, Pa., the son of the late Paul Swaney and Virginia Rosenberger Swaney.
He was also predeceased by a great grandson, Maddox and a brother, Ralph Palmer Swaney.
Glenn was employed with the former B & O Railroad for 35 years until retirement.
Surviving are his loving family: his wife of 64 years, Nancy Sue Swaney; his children, Glenn Hugh Swaney and wife, Joyce, Dan Swaney and wife, Ginny, and Reed Swaney and wife, Red; grandchildren, Tianne, Pierce and Michael Kingan, Joe Mercer, Kristy Walker, Stacey Daughenbaugh, Justin Swaney and Sarah Swaney; great-grandchildren, Robbie, Ryan and Cameron Pierce, Hunter and Julia Walker and Jaxon Daughenbaugh; brother, Eugene Swaney and wife, Mildred, and sister-in-law, Agnes Swaney.
The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, September 20, 2013 from 9 until 11 a.m., the hour of service with Rev. Jay P. Hurley officiating.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
