Max E. Bowser

Max Evan Bowser, age 68, of LaBelle, Pa., went home to be with the Lord, on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at his home, under the compassionate care of Amedisys Hospice of Masontown and his loving wife, Deborah, after a seven-year battle with Parkinson’s disease.

He was born in Waynesburg, Pa. to the late Leonard C. and Martha (Main) Bowser on June 21, 1945.

Max held an Associate Degree in Business, served as a Staff Sergeant in the US Air Force in Communication Intelligence and in the Air Force Reserves from 1964 to 1969 when he received an Honorable Discharge and went on to work at USX Corp, Aristech Chemical Corp, and the Greater Uniontown Joint Sewage Plant Authority. Some of the positions he held included: operator foreman, general foreman, operational coordinator, and plant operator. He retired in 2008.

Max was an avid small game and deer hunter and fisherman, and loved hiking, gardening, going to the Meadows for horse racing and slots, spending time with his family, and playing with his cats. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan.

Max is predeceased by his parents; his sister, Patricia Michantz; his brothers, Randy B., Leonard K. and Melvin K. Bowser; his father-in-law, Harry Randolph, Sr. and his beloved nephew, Thomas Marshall.

His faithful wife of 41 years, Deborah Bowser, and their two precious cats, Socks and Tipper, survive Max.

He is also survived by many special family members including his sisters, Sherry Shaffer of Roscoe, Pa.; Micky (Bowser) and husband, Charles, of Nemacolin, Pa.; brothers, Barry G. Bowser of Va., Landon Bowser and wife, Michelle, of Spraggs, Pa.; mother-in-law, Dolores Randolph of LaBelle, Pa.; sister-in-law, Martha Biddle and husband, Willard III; brother-in-law, Harry Randolph and wife, Melody; special nephews and nieces: Willard IV and Angela Biddle, Jodi Biddle and fiancée Rob Nehls, Stacy Shaffer and fiancée John Czuchan, Kelly and Scott Willis; great-nephews and -nieces, Chasity Holland and fiancée, Roger Austin, Paul Holland, Jonah Griedel, Thomas Biddle, Lillian Biddle, Jacob Hixson and Willard Biddle V, along with multiple other loved nephews and nieces.

Friends and family will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNERAL HOME 135 Park St. Brownsville, Pa. on Friday from 2 to 9 p.m. where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 2:30 p.m. with the Rev. Lawrence Rush officiating. Full military rites will be accorded by American Legion Posts 295, 838 and 940.
