Lawrence Martin Baker, Sr. ‘P-Nuts’

Lawrence Martin ‘P-Nuts’ Baker, Sr., 70 of (Yauger Hollow) Lemont Furnace, Pa., died Wednesday, September 18, 2013 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital, Pittsburgh.

He was born October 20, 1942 in Connellsville, Pa., son of the late Donald Thomas Baker and the late Roberta Jean Martin Baker McClain.

He was a Veteran of the US Navy serving seven years during Viet Nam Conflict, a graduate of North Union High School, Class of 1960, and a life member of VFW Post 21, Connellsville. He retired as a Conductor for CSX Railroad.

Surviving are his wife of 43 years, Margaret Roebuck Baker; daughters, Marcia (Scott) Glover, McClellandtown, Bobbie Jean (Paul) Dirda, Uniontown, Dorcy (Buddy) Glass, Bainbridge, Ga.; sons, Lawrence (Buck) Baker Jr., Yauger Hollow, Mark A. Baker, Dunbar; brother, George Baker, Uniontown; sister, Linda Leonard, Uniontown; grandchildren: Scott Alan Glover II, Larry (Bucky) Baker III, Austin Dirda, Harlie Dirda, Kevin Key, Karla Mullis; four great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews.

He was preceded in death by step-father, Harol McClain, brother Wendell Teddy Baker, sisters-in-law, Judy Baker and Julia Baker, nephew, Harol E. Baker; several aunts and uncles.

Friends will be received 5 to 9 on Friday and 12 to 4 and 7 to 9 on Saturday in the BURHANS-CROUSE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Connellsville St., Dunbar.

Services will be held in the Funeral Home, Sunday, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Lee Maley officiating.

Interment will follow in the Roebuck Cemetery
