Nola Michele (Gismondi) Fike
Nola Michele Gismondi Fike, 62, Hopwood, Pa., died Sunday, September 15, 2013 at her home.
She was born May 12, 1951 in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of Nicola and Carmella (Petrone) Gismondi.
Nola graduated from Uniontown Senior High School in 1969, attended Penn State University, and graduated from California University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor of Science in Education in 1972. She completed studies for a Certificate of Language from the University of Sorbonne, France. She also fulfilled the requirements for Certification in Paralegal Services and for Certification in Gerontology Services.
She was a substitute language teacher, a clerk in the Fayette County Recorder of Deeds office a Notary Public, and was the Paralegal for the Area Agency on Aging.
Prior to her retirement, she was employed as a Case Manager with the Southwestern PA Area Agency on Aging.
Nola was Catholic by faith, formerly attended Saint Therese de Lisieux Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown.
She was an avid reader loved gardening, cooking and watching movies.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother Carl N. Gismondi
She is survived by a sister, Linda Gismondi of Uniontown, Pa.; brother, Nicola (wife Catherine) Gismondi of Davidson, North Carolina; a son, Jeffrey T. Fike; daughter, Melissa (Greg) Haser of Slippery Rock, Pa.; grandsons: Joshua and Jason Fike of Blaine, Minnesota; seven nieces and nephews; 11 great nieces and nephews; and several cousins.
A private Blessing Service by Rev. Father James W. Clark was held Thursday, September 19, prior to her interment in Sylvan Heights Cemetery
