Police identify driver of vehicle in I-70 fatal

A Perryopolis man turned himself into police Monday evening, and reportedly told authorities he was driving the vehicle involved in an Interstate 70 fatal crash earlier that day.

Michael P. Brazzon, 40, was driving west in the eastbound lanes of I-70 when his vehicle hit another, police said. Siva Marie Stewart, 22, of Connellsville was a passenger in his vehicle, police said, and got out of his car after the 2:10 a.m. accident accident.

Stewart was hit by a tractor trailer and killed instantly, according to police. Authorities are still looking for the driver of the tractor trailer, which fled the scene.

Trooper Stefani Plume said that the investigating officer in the case is meeting with the Westmoreland County district attorney to further go over the details of the case.

The accident occurred in the Westmoreland County area of I-70.
